Are big wheels dead?

The spy shots continue! This is one we would really love your feedback on, especially after our retro mag feature. More and more people are choosing to fit smaller rims and go wide, so this top secret new design from league in 15 x 7.5 fits the bill. It’s in a nice wide fitment that everyone is after and although we haven’t had confirmation on fitments we’d obviously expect them in 4×100 / 4×108 with a deep offset so you get a nice flush arch to rim look. Your going to have to run a skinny tyre but its going to be hotter than ever in 2010, that’s for sure.
It’s a cool design that take’s you way back. Is it going to be the marmite wheel of 2010? We wrote a really popular article asking everyone for thier all time favorite modern classic. I could see this rim on all of them. Do you think big wheels are dead? Are we going wider or are big rims going to be back bigger than ever? Use your voice and be heard!! Best response gets £20 off anything at POTN.COM

Are big wheels dead? Well no, not on big cars but for little hatches or older cars then small is the way to go.
These bad boys are nuts! Look like they came from Uranus or something! Outer space FTW!! Would look great on a MK1 MR2 I reckon.

SSR Star Shark reps, these are HD RS-Bs, been available from perfectlyround.com in black and gold for a couple years here in the US. 15×7.5 +35, 15×7.5 +0, and 13×7 +0, cheap too, under $500 a set.

Smaller wheels will change the gearing and give faster acceleration at the expense of top end speed.
I’d like to see smaller wheels getting more popularity. Too many people think 19′s look cool only to find that their car just handles like a dog and doesn’t accelerate any more.

you only put monster rims on yankie or jap metal. not that makes it ok.
like in the dubbin the whole thing about putting bmw, audi, merc & porker wheels v-dubs. smart move, but like the big wheel thing, they are dead… even the bright rim thing wont last long. stock rims with innovation are the way forward this year. failing that totally bespoke rims could be an expensive way to different. why not try something nobodys try’d.
