Here it is again, JAE 2009, which I have to say is easily the most laid back and largest gathering of Japanese metal a weekend can offer. With the day coming and the sun out it wasn’t long before it became a scorcher and the BBQs and car clubs were in full force as well as the trade stands showcasing all sorts of extreme machinery, such as the Sumo R33 which still holds it’s 8 second pass.

The day continued to be an absolute winner and the turnout has been the best since attending this show yearly from back in 2004 at Billing Autodrome. The friendly atmosphere, club vs. club footie and more games with full commentary made for a highly entertaining afternoon once too tired to walk from looking around the vast amount of stands spread all throughout Wicksteed Park.

For now, we’ll let some pictures do the talking.

Honda’s were everywhere here with many local people owning them! Here’s a brilliantly kept Civic Jordan with a set of custom yellow Rota GT3′s!

Not a common appearance to the UK Jap car scene, an Infiniti G35/Skyline 350GT stood out with it’s VIP style clean white with black and polished wheels.

Not many would notice, but this car really stood out to me on the SXOC stand with the “Strawberry” S15 front end conversion on this S14 Silvia, the Takata Green Rota Grids really stood and out set the car off and just shows what you can create with a few carefully thought out modifications.

All in all, the whole weekend was a total winner with a brilliant and friendly atmosphere, blazingly hot weather and an amazing and varied collection of Japanese cars!
