Since 1986 Venair Silicone Hoses have been developing and manufacturing performance silicone hose kits for aftermarket automotive uses. Venair hoses have quickly become Europe’s most popular silicone hose manufacturer and is used by Seat Motorsport and Renault Sport Touring Cars. The silicone hose kits are a great way to aesthetically improve your engine bay as well as add performance to your vehicle. This is done, say with boost piping etc by the silicone not expanding under increased air pressure where a rubber counterpart would do so. Doing this will improve the airflow by smoothing out any turbulence meaning a high mass of air can pass more quickly. The same goes for coolant fluids too where the hose will not expand or compress under load. Take a look below at the annotated picture for further explanations.

1. All Venair hose kits are available in many different colours. The usual stock held colours available are red, blue, yellow and black. Other colours are available on request and special order and in most cases will arrive to your door within 4 weeks of order.

2. Unlike cheaper kits on the market, when required a Venair hose will actually have an internal metal coil moulded into the silicone for extra rigidity. This is especially apparent on boost piping etc where a large pressure on boost can inflate a rubber pipe reducing power and consistency. All Venair kits are reinforced with fabric which means all hoses will not flex under pressure.

3. Motorsport quality silicone hoses. Venair is a leading brand in silicone hose technology and are used by many professional level motorsport teams such as Renault Sport and Seat Motorsport. Inferior brand silicone hoses will not be able to withstand the harsh conditions of race use without failing.

4. Unlike inferior hose kits, Venair do not pad out their silicone hoses for strength with fillers. This can be very damaging when kits break under stress. Venair only use the finest automotive silicone which gives suitable strength for all road conditions and motorsport use.

5. All Venair hoses are designed to directly replace their OEM counterparts and include any inserts required for use. Breathers, positioning for dump valves etc (on turbo applications) are all pre moulded as one unit on a Venair silicone hose. Many cheaper kits will not have these available which will render the part useless.

The last meet of the year for myself was last weekend.. It had to be the huge South Mimms meet paying homage to all models of Honda. After spending a thorough 6 hours polishing the car panel by panel on Saturday afternoon and a further “quick” clean down on Sunday we were all ready to leave.

Having rushed last week to have the new wheels fitted for this meet, everything came together very nicely and it was awesome receiving compliments from people saying how well the new Bronze Grids suited the car. After a very boring drive up the M1′s awful 50MPH limit and losing most of the convoy from time to time we finally made it. The temperature was reaching near 30C, no clouds in the sky and some of the UK’s best Honda’s. Perfect day out!

This picture really doesn’t do the size of the meet justice, it was huge.

Is it just me or are Image wheels creeping onto the scene more and more?

Super clean coupe, it’s nice to see cars done simply with well thought out parts.

Endless Horizon was as always in attendance, the quality of this EK was second to none.

’96 Spec DC2 looks awesome.

Clean EK – Regamasters, Spoon spoiler and a few other choice mods.

Really liked this 5 door EP. I barely see any that have anything done to them and this stood out to me.

Less S2000′s were in attendance this year, this one was very clean.

All in all, this was the perfect way for me to end the show season of 2011, I’m just wondering what next year will bring and what levels of perfection people will roll out of their garages after winter. Bring on 2012!

After missing the all important season ending JAE due to other commitments, this was my last chance of the year to catch up on 2011′s best Japanese metal. Luckily the weather managed to hold off and the racing was not stopped once throughout the entire day and the only time the heavens opened up was on the journey home. There was plenty to see from the HKS Drag Series, drift paddock to monster truck shows, RWYB & Show’n'Shine!

The pro cars were definitely not one to be missed, with the final trap at the end of the day being 6.6s @ 208MPH from the Abbey Motorsport Project Z car and not to mention a few good ear bashing runs from the Fireforce Jet Car!

The show area was buzzing with various models of Japanese cars, both old and new!

Overall, the show was awesome and definitely a great way to end the season especially with the typical UK weather keeping away until going home! Anyway, enough of the talking! More pictures below!

The last show of the year came around very quickly and before I knew it I was sitting in my slammed EG Civic waiting to get through the gates of the Pod. This was my 5th Japshow Finale on the trot and so my expectations were higher than ever and oh yes did it live up to them!

Everywhere you looked there was something of interest, Run What Ya Brung and Drift What Ya Brung track times were running all day aswell as the final round of the HKS Drag Series which wonderfully, nearly all top competitors were running and breakdowns were minimal! Clubs stands were in full force this time over and all makes and models of metal were in top form for the show!

The only grumble I had for the day was the price of the burgers, as the £5 saved off the ticket for turning up in a Jap car was quickly thrown into a burger van for some grub, d’oh! As the day rolled by alot more quickly than I wanted it to, many performances were on show such as the monster trucks and jet car giving it’s 5.9 second run at around 270mph. If you haven’t seen this, you MUST attend a show, this is a spectacle in itself.

The day overall was a total winner, despite the typical British autumn weather making its strong appearance and everyone freezing themselves, the atmosphere was busy and energetic with enough happening to cure any need for action! The only regret I have is that I didn’t stay the weekend and camp, this really was the perfect way to end the year with a bang!

Here it is again, JAE 2009, which I have to say is easily the most laid back and largest gathering of Japanese metal a weekend can offer. With the day coming and the sun out it wasn’t long before it became a scorcher and the BBQs and car clubs were in full force as well as the trade stands showcasing all sorts of extreme machinery, such as the Sumo R33 which still holds it’s 8 second pass.

The day continued to be an absolute winner and the turnout has been the best since attending this show yearly from back in 2004 at Billing Autodrome. The friendly atmosphere, club vs. club footie and more games with full commentary made for a highly entertaining afternoon once too tired to walk from looking around the vast amount of stands spread all throughout Wicksteed Park.

For now, we’ll let some pictures do the talking.

Honda’s were everywhere here with many local people owning them! Here’s a brilliantly kept Civic Jordan with a set of custom yellow Rota GT3′s!

2009 prepped Nissan Silvia S15 driven by the “The man from Boyzone” showing it’s battle wounds after a heavy season of EDC action!

Not a common appearance to the UK Jap car scene, an Infiniti G35/Skyline 350GT stood out with it’s VIP style clean white with black and polished wheels.

Not many would notice, but this car really stood out to me on the SXOC stand with the “Strawberry” S15 front end conversion on this S14 Silvia, the Takata Green Rota Grids really stood and out set the car off and just shows what you can create with a few carefully thought out modifications.

All in all, the whole weekend was a total winner with a brilliant and friendly atmosphere, blazingly hot weather and an amazing and varied collection of Japanese cars!

CREDIT: Pictures, goes to my friend, James Davies! Owner of a clean white Civic Del Sol!

If you were there yourself please let us know your thoughts on the car’s and the meet itself!
