Instant power increase
The VIPER uses ‘velocity air force’ to direct cold air directly into the engine.
The cold air feed takes air from behind the grill straight into the VIPER’s 100mm diameter inlet, swirling it through a unique Pipercross velocity filter contained within a carbon fibre heat shield, and then into a ram pipe to increase it’s pressure before feeding it into the induction system.
The carbon fibre heat shield protects the air charge from under bonnet heat keeping it cool which means that the air is more dense,
which means that more oxygen is introduced into the combustion mixture,
which means that power is increased.
The reverse flow technology filter and 150mm ram pipe make use of the physical phenomenon of moving air tending to exert pressure at right angles to it's direction of travel, creating more air flow on the edge of the intake tube rather than in the centre of the inlet.
The unique design of the filter cone and the inlet 'tune' the moving air flow which means that the air increases it's speed,
which means that the pressure is increased,
which means that the laminar air flow is maximised into the engine,
which means that power is increased (again).
The physics involved may sound a little complicated but the increase in power using a VIPER against a standard air box will be immediately evident.
Just as obvious will be the VIPER's stunning looks the carbon fibre heat shield connecting the polished alloy inlet to the 150mm rampipe will will be the focal point of your engine bay!

and transferred by Pipercross to the Citroen Saxo 1.6 16v VTS (VFC040).
